As a proactive historian I keep myself busy researching, and I get involved with the work of various history groups – giving fully-illustrated talks on Elizabethan and Stuart social history; on cultural history, including food consumption practices in past times; and on medical nutritional history. I also give presentations at national and international conferences.
Some of my recent presentations have been at the following locations:
Aberystwyth University University of Leicester De Montfort University University of Nottingham University of Exeter Université Blaise Pascal, France
My recent presentation at the multidisciplinary conference entitled Medicine and Health in the Countryside, held at Université Blaise Pascal at Clermont-Ferrand in France, was on the medicinal role of the lemon in rural England from the sixteenth century to the present day.
